I love the new album! It sounds kinda like the gaslight anthem but it's not a bad thing, just a little bit weird to get used to.

I listened to it a lot driving today, absolutely love it. Greg takes a much bigger role on vocals, but I like them both equally so that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I think I finally pinpointed why I love the Menzingers so much. It's because all of their songs sound like genuine, true stories of their lives that they have eloquently translated into songs. They all sound like real stories that have happened to them, and they're not just writing songs to make music but rather to reflect on their lives. It feels like a pretty unique strength for a band nowadays.

I gave it a listen through this morning, it all sounds like The Menzingers but nothing really stood out for me. I'll give it another listen later but I'm not sure I'm liking this release.

Haha that's awesome.

I've listened to the album about 10 times already, love it so far but there are a few weaker tracks for sure.

Tellin' Lies reminds me of a Say Anything song from the ...Is a Real Boy era. And at times, The Bars sounds like Deryk from Sum 41.

I'd never listened to an album of theirs before but one of the songs from this album came up on spotify radio so I've downloaded the record, listened this morning. it's alright I guess, not seeing the fuss compared to other bands of the same genre but I don't *hate* it so I'm going to give it a few more go rounds. usually takes me a few listens to fully know how I feel about an album.

Learned about the Menzingers through these boards and am checking out their After the Party album. So far it's pretty fuckin' good- thanks blink boards 8)

On The Impossible Past is their best album IMO. Give it a few plays and you'll see why. One of the best punk/pop-punk albums I've ever heard.

The album has officially grown on me, I still like Impossible and Rented better but this album is pretty good. Black Mass is probably my favorite song right now ... super Black Velvet but that's cool.

By the way, I liked this cover a lot. I love when girls just doesn't sound like the umpteenth Hayley Williams or typical indie frontwoman.
