fElon Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 Oliver is this really the first time you've heard them say " we weren't talking at all during neighborhoods"? Because there's been interviews since dogs eating dogs came out where they've all pretty much said that..... I still enjoy Neighborhoods personally,,,but that's my opinion... No, but I always said that the fact that they weren't working together detracted from the album and everyone claimed it didn't. Now Tom confirms. It did. I shouldn't call it shit. There is some good songs on it, but it wasn't them reaching their full potential. 1 Quote
Ghent Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I still think neighborhoods is better than DED anyway. Quote
Tyler☮ Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I love both of them, but I think I'd be able to judge better if DED was an LP. Quote
Pussay Patrol Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Yeah, I could make a way better EP for me out of 5 Neighbourhoods songs, but then again if DED was a full album maybe it'd be better. Quote
.Nick Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I don't see much of a difference between DED and Neighborhoods. Quote
Majestic McMoose Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 id just change out snake charmer, MH 4.18.11, this is home for WIWY, DED and disaster, maybe Love is dangerous for Pretty little girl Quote
juice182 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 i think this is home is way better than when i was young. only song i dont listen to off of the ep. i really love the ep. it has such a great mix of different sounds. punk, stadium rock, acoustics, hip hop, 80s. a little bit of everything, just how i like blink. Quote
bennett Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 i think this is home looks like a 15 year old wrote it compared to when i was young. tom even said himself in some interview he was writing songs for that album that he thought people wanted to hear, not what he wanted to write. i think this is home is the best example of that Quote
juice182 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 i just really dont like the verses for wiwy. or the watered down ava intro at the beginning. if they are going to do stadium rock i say go all out (like disaster) or just dont do it. Quote
juice182 Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 also travis dropped off the aus tour. Quote
Solace Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Oliver, I feel like you're contradictory at times. If Fall Out Boy released a rap album, a genre that's very popular today and has many many fans, you'd call them sell-outs. If Tom recorded another AVA album, something that he knows is less popular than Blink based on record sales and tour sizes and everything else, you get pissed at him for not releasing "what people want to hear." What about what he wants to write? He's clearly very interested in that music and it would be unauthentic to record something he doesn't have a passion for. I'm just confused. Quote

Ghent Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I don't get the hate for This Is Home. One of my favorite songs on Neighborhoods yup, still my favorite song off that album i'd say. Quote

n i k u Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Travis is a cunt well thats not nice. Quote
dildo69er Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 haha emotions getting the better of me, just seemed like a lack of planning on his part which made it fall through for us Quote
M!ke Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 I don't see much of a difference between DED and Neighborhoods. I agree, they both are very much in the same style. I think you could combine the two to make a nice long coherent LP, and no one would have ever guessed they were from two different recording eras. That being said, I love them both. 1 Quote
M!ke Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 i never like word stuttering totally ruins it for me Me too, I mean I actually love the verses in This Is Home, but that chorus just ruins the entire song for me. The stuttering to me is worse than the yo oh ohs in AVA. Quote
Majestic McMoose Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 For your consideration. i made a playlist combining DED and neighborhoods. listening through it now but when i through it together i listened to the start and end of each song to see how they blend.
