Fun, Catchy Pop-Punk Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 Usually other bands will make a speech and play songs with the band at the induction ceremony. I think bands like Pennywise (first band to take them on a real tour), Alkaline Trio (Skiba and Atom Willard connections), Jimmy Eat World, and Linkin Park all would be good options. 1 Quote
Fun, Catchy Pop-Punk Posted April 15, 2024 Author Posted April 15, 2024 Panic! at the Disco would be cool as they began as a Blink cover band. I think Mumford & Sons also started as a Blink cover band. 1 Quote
Monkey Chips Posted April 15, 2024 Posted April 15, 2024 I think first The Cure could possibly sponsor them since they not only inspired Tom and Mark, but Robert did collab with blink during 2003/2004 (and is on the 2003 album) also the fact that they are already inducted into the RHOF. Plus I think you could be on to something with Alkaline Trio possibly playing a part (for the reasons you pointed out) It's hard thinking of possible other bands because the ones you mentioned like Pennywise, Jimmy Eat World, and Linkin Park are valid too. There's also the Foo Fighters which blink has somewhat a connection to with that one photo floating around (as Tom shared in his instagram in memory of Taylor https://www.instagram.com/p/CblZDmRv9bx/) and like The Cure, they're also already in the Hall of Fame. 2 Quote

This could be the only logical chance of a blink performing in a 4-peice setup. Obviously it won't happen, but would make the absolute most sense outside of the highly unlikely event both bands tour together. Even thought they totally could and should. 1 1 Quote

I mean, Wade's not entirely wrong with the TTS scam ? Still I didn't realize he was so salty about Tom's UFO stuff. Hopefully he gets over it. 2 Quote
Thibaut182 Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Big question : Will the band acknowledge and give credit to their original drummer ? GD's original drummer John Kiffmeyer got some recognition and credit when the band got inducted at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (even Tré gave him a shout-out) 1 1 Quote

JarJarBlinks Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Can't believe no one has said Fall Out Boy. P Stump can finally perform Sober! 1 2 Quote
allsystemsgo Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 Does the inducted band play a song or is it strictly other bands paying tribute? If it's the former then I wonder if Tom wouldn't perform First Date to to feeling too embarrassed. It'd probably just be Dammit and ATST. If they did Edging I'd spontaneously combust. 1 Quote
allsystemsgo Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 It not like Scott did some heinous act (that we know of) to be permanently ignored/blacklisted. He was a young kid who abused alcohol a bit too much. And that's just going by what his bandmates have said over the years. 1 Quote

He probably just got too drunk once or twice and missed a show or something so they replaced him with a more talent and better looking drummer. Idk, I’ve always gotten the sense that it was more of a business move than a legitimate issue with his drinking. 3 Quote
Champ182 Posted April 16, 2024 Posted April 16, 2024 It's interesting that this topic comes up so often here. I have no idea who is or isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame, I haven't heard anything about it outside of this board in years, my only knowledge of it really is that it used to be broadcast on VH1 back in the day and I'd see replays when I was home sick from school and stuff. 1 Quote
