Drama-Free Jan Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Can someone please explain to me why they like Take Me In? I seriously can’t wrap my head around it. What am I missing? I hear no blink in it. Just canned/sampled instruments and phony cheesy operatic singing that should never exist. Quote

Tom makes that immaturity his entire public persona, whereas Mark sometimes makes an effort to be the adult in the room; he always felt the more mature of the two, despite being a goofball himself. Again though, I have some inherent bias, so I can’t be totally objective here. 😂 I think it’s more Mark & Skiba is a different vibe. Quote

Nice melody. 1 Quote

Scott. Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 The riff in EE is pure Box Car, the verses are AVA, the bridge is Untitled. Riff is fucking killer, I’m glad Tom is writing cool riffs again. I love the No Fun riff too. Pretty obviously Can’t Go Back is one of the recent songs they wrote if it’s Marks fave, they wouldn’t leave that off OMT 2 Quote

It sounds just like See You and Childhood had a baby. But at least Childhood had some purpose behind it. Just not a fan of it sorry man. 1 Quote
thongrider Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I don't like Childhood much though, I guess. 1 Quote

allsystemsgo Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Childhood is ass. TMI is what it wished it could be. 1 Quote

Take Me In just feels like a classic slow blink song to go with the best of them: Adam's Song, STFTK, What Went Wrong?, I Miss You, I'm Lost Without You, and One More Time. To me it feels right at home alongside those beautiful songs. 1 1 Quote
Russel Coight Posted September 6, 2024 Author Posted September 6, 2024 Take Me In shits on Childhood. Especially as a closer. It works so well as a closer. 6 1 Quote
Walrus Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 I like childhood. My biggest gripe with the song is the chorus sounds so weirdly mixed it makes it hard to listen to. 2 Quote

Take Me In though really is a wonderful closer. Quote

I hate to sound like Diddy, but they aren’t even playing the guitar on this song. Quote
