You called me a blink simp for that innocuous statement that then went full on dick in throat for Billie Joe. Not at all what happened. I love blink way more than I ever enjoyed Green Day. What if I told you that you could love blink without trying to takeaway from the band that paved the way for blink? What if I told you that you didn’t have to lie to yourself about Green Day’s accomplishments in order to enjoy blink? Quote

They had some decent songs I had forgotten. It was defintiely more enjoyable than whatever flavor of the week emo band that blink usually brings out with them. Quote

Elisa Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I was front row at a blink show during the first reunion, Doug (Tom's tech who passed away a few years ago) was handing guitar picks to everyone and he started talking to the people next to us, they asked him about some tour memories I think - and I really don't remember the conversation, but I do remember that at some point the pop disaster tour came up and Doug told them that Tre Cool was absolutely hideous to deal with, he also used the word resentful, while Mike and Billie Joe were good people, very down to earth, so it checks out. 4 Quote
Neal Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Tre cool is such a arrogant prick for someone who is a mediocre drummer at best. Absolutely hate the guy. that being said, travis is an absolute wankstain as well 2 1 Quote

What happened is your smug and arrogant self outright claimed that blink is more relevant than Green Day right now. Your claim isn’t based on fact but rather your emotions and personal opinions on the bands. You refused to answer which band most recently was nominated for a Grammy. I wonder why you wouldn’t answer! 🤡🤡🤡🤡 1 Quote
whales Posted April 1 Posted April 1 while I like the majority of the Green Day music I've heard, I do find them distinctly generic in comparison to blink, which is probably why they're more popular. i'm actually surprised they've stayed relevant given how every song i listen to sounds pretty much the same, but i guess that's part of the appeal for people. 1 Quote

Jared Campbell Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Blink made fun of countless bands but the second another group makes fun of blink or rightfully so airs a few grievances about them…y’all can’t handle it. Snowflakes! Quote

As far as basic punk drumming goes, he sucked! Live he was abrasive and out of time. I could have done all that shit in my sleep 5 days after getting my first drum set when I was 12. Smelly, Byron, Dave Raun, all miles ahead of Scott while not straying away from your basic punk rock beats. Quote

Mark, Tom and Scott were three guys that weren't the most professional musicians and still made it. Getting Travis in feels like cheating in a way. And tbf I think Tre Cool was a better fit for Green Day than John. And I love some of the stuff Tre did in the 90s. It's not always the best drummers that become the biggest stars. The Beatles had the best drummer, but they kicked him out to replace him with a star. And that was probably a good choice! Quote

If you’re talking about speed, plenty of punk drummers who were much faster AND cleaner (including Travis). Scott just wasn’t that good and people get blinded by nastolgia Quote
