Really thought the snippet we got was verse chorus bridge, but it's really bridge final chorus outro. Was a nice surprise to hear Tom's verse and then a half time chorus actually works. I thought too and I wish that was the case, it would fit better and those magical chimes were wasted...
Monkey Chips
So I saw on the Chorus forums that 'One Night Stand' used this riff that Tom came up with back in 2017 which is cool: 1
Man
Everyone Everywhere...I listened to it once, that's all I needed from it..yikes. Every Other Weekend - it's ok. kinda went flat. If You Never Left - this and Can't Go Back are the best of the songs but a little disappointed. As others have said, am sad the chimes weren't used in more of the song. The lyrics in the verses are a bit undercooked in a few areas. These deluxe songs are all basically Neighborhoods tier. It's ok though because now they don't need to revisit these anymore for the next album!
kibbles
^Nah Neighborhoods is way better.

I must be the only one who didn’t think that with the snippet? I had no idea what you guys were talking about a bridge with that.
2point5
Poor Coight has gone to bed, as happy as a pig in shit, dreaming happy dreams about blink being back together making great music again, and now he's gonna have to wake up to all you debby downers whining and moaning about the new songs as soon as his back is turned.
351
I'm not sure what to think about If You Never Left. I love it as much as I hate it.
Ghent
Where can I listen??
Elite Takes - this is jan
I haven’t listened to the fulls yet but it really sounds like OMT is the new California (but better) and Pt 2 is just like the Deluxe (but better), random good songs, bad songs, maybe unfinished ideas

351
I don't like One Night Stand because I was left in the street.
Ghent
Ok One Night Stand works way better as a full song. This is a perfect example of how/why Tom wasted his time with AVA. This is a HUGE AVA 💩turd💩 if it didn't have Mark and Travis involved. Song is salvaged and actually pretty good. 8/10 If You Never Left- Oh shit, do we have an emerging banger here? 9/10 with room to grow for sure 1

Basically saying California Deluxe was basically a bunch of random songs that were half finished ideas, with high highs (Wildfire, Last Train Home imo - Can’t Go Back, One Night Stand, etc) and low lows (Parking Lot, Misery - Take Me In, All In My Head, etc) where as California was more consistent throughout like an album with a theme, like OMT, but overly long, like OMT. So they are very parallel. OMT obviously I like better but in terms of structure/parallels they are doing like the same thing. Eleven next?

Agree with all of this except Parking Lot is an awesome song. Just because you lived a powder puff childhood and don't get the reference to Parking Lots doesn't mean the song is bad.

That’s not why I hate it, the cheesy ass guitar shreds, horrendous verse melodies, all of it killed me after just getting done with California. I’d probably like it better in hindsight. (remember when everyone was oozing to 6/8 *cringe*). Would be fun to do a new listen, been a while
