I'm an anomaly (that's a thing without a name)!

*50 internet points for you, Davey, if you get that reference!

Full song is out here in Europe already. I think it‘s a great one. Catchy and fun. Out of the last features my favorite for sure!

What a bunch of crybabies! The band is willingly working with these artists, they aren't being forced to do anything and they sure aren't being bossed around by a bunch of nerdy writers. Blink 182 with Matt is basically a separate entity than with Tom so it's not really the same legacy.

I'm not sure we even get a single album with Tom if he was still around. He didn't go on a tour til 2019 and has slowed down with Ava.

I'm actually disappointed this never saw the light of day, the guitar at the end of the chorus sounded completely different to anything else on Nine / Cali. Sounded like a Tom line.

Musicians wanting to create music, play live music, and have fun collaborating with other musicians who ask them, what a revelation.

It's called quality control.

That remix is dope! Mark's "You take me back to such better days, but those better days weren't good enough." line is super catchy, wish he would've saved that for a blink song. That bridge is dope too "I couldn't change if I wanted to, on my phone here we go..." (love the Green Day nod). Now I'm gonna have to check out more from this Oliver Tree dude...?

This one sounds actually like a real collaboration and it's not just Travis on the drums and Mark showing up for a line or two. I don't like the plastic guitars, but it's more interesting than the other collabs.

Do you think it could be that those bands just don’t reach out for the collabs? I feel pop music has always been more open to collabs than the punk/indie scene which has always felt a bit more DIY if you get me? I’m not very up there with many modern bands and I actually don’t know any of those you listed haha so not sure whether that old punk DIY attitude applies to them or not.

Like I have absolutely no idea how these collabs start. I always figured it started with the labels talking to each other but that could be very very wrong.

Oh yeah absolutely agree with all of this! To be honest a lot of times I'm just kind of unfairly judging Blink against my own wishlist of what would be cool in a perfect world haha. I know it's not always fair. But also here are some songs by the bands I listed, I highly recommend them all!

Soccer Mommy - Cool - https://youtu.be/7Phsup-LrII

Oh god dammit, not until you posted this and I googled. NEVERMIND.

very weird — the whole burger records thing is sketch as fuck. i sorta always got weird vibes from that scene though (not necessarily culture abuse)

I read about it last night, what a bummer. I loved Culture Abuse and I am feeling really betrayed because they were all about inclusiveness and community building and now it all feels like a load of shit.
