One More Time… Official Discussion (Constant Tug and Nut)

These fuckers did it again. 

I will add some more commentary on this as time goes on but I am just sitting here with my mind-blown.  

The best way to describe my immediate reaction is this album is legit like your favorite team winning the championship. Seriously. After all the fucking uncertainty, suspense, turmoil, highs, lows, over the years, these guys did it. They pushed themselves, took a ton of chances, and they dropped a creative masterpiece. 

This album feels like a celebration. 

There truly is nothing like these three together.

but while Self Titled was a pure cinematic masterpiece that’s hard to top, this has more of an essence of blink behind it. 

Self Titled has no flaws in it..but this is a ‘bigger’ album if that makes sense.

it is a collection of everything they’ve ever done PLUS some sick 90s punk and 2000s music homages.

I'm trying not to let the newness of it all cloud my judgment... but at the very least, there is an argument that this is one of their best records.

 

Low key, I've always been hesitant about this second comeback considering it was following all the same steps that the first comeback was (near death experience brings them back together, fun reunion tour, etc.)... but this record got out so much faster than Neighborhoods and it is SOOOO MUCH MORE COHESIVE. There were good songs on Neighborhoods, but it was so fucking disjointed. This is not the case here.

Maybe Tom does get bored again in a year or two and blink ends for good, but after the last 19 years of us sticking with this band despite all weird shit, they finally came through with everything we were hoping for when they first got back together... and more.

 

Fuck this record is special.

After listening to the album once, I can only say the following: They took old blink, blink untitled, +44, Box Car Racer, California, Nine, and this came out. Quite melodic, Jerry Finn would be proud.

Holy fucking WOW the whole thing… just fucking insane. The sounds and musical eras they captured and still made it sound like Blink. But a new fucking amazing blink. Im so impressed and happy and fucking so many other inexplainable things haha
