  7. Yeah, if Edging is Track 14 as a lead single then that really raises my expectations for this album (which are already high) I think it's time for a new song or a new clip or something. Let's wash off the stank of the SA debacle

  8. I can't say really like these what do you think? underwhelming if i am honest. But it doesn't matter, as long as the songs are good. (Joke track) About my thoughts. And actually like that tracklist better.

  9. Remember when Travis would come in for 5 minutes, lay the sickest beats, then go away? It was better that way.

  12. Maybe I'll change my mind when I actually see him playing one, but so far they all just look strangely cheap and aesthetically unpleasant. haha

  13. Being a blink fan is like running a daycare with shitty children. Tom’s over there, being the weird kid, shitting in potted plants and eating glue. Travis is being a dickhead to everyone. Mark’s the teachers pet, always tattling on the other kids.

  14. just strange that Tom mentioned multiple times an unreleased Box Car song...and then a song with the same title might be on the album. We'll see.

  15. In my opinion they are just choosing the sequence of the songs and which ones to put in the album. In any case, modern technology allows you to add some parts of the song (vocals or instrumentals) even during the mixing stage: maybe they just wanted to redo some touch-ups.

  20. I didn't praise the production of Edging. However, I'm not a huge fan of the production of Edging. The drums are way too loud and the guitars are too quiet. Mark also sounds kinda like a robot in the second pre-chorus But unlike California, it actually has an interesting guitar part in the verses even if it's very simple. It has no annoying gang vocals or woahs. California has way too much of that crap. I wouldn't mind it if it was on like 2-3 songs but my god, they're on nearly every song. Not to mention that overplayed BTD styled riff and that chord progression that's on nearly every damn song too. It takes me out of the song to the point I laugh whenever I hear gang vocals or woahs/nananas on songs Feldman was involved with. The same exact things can be heard on other albums he's produced for other bands. Thank god he took a step back with Nine. Much better album. He's better when he backs off a bit. Edging would fit perfectly on California. It has that vibe. But it's got more to it. The bridge is quality IMO. The only thing Edging needs are good lyrics, but there's nothing on there that actually makes me cringe lyrically. That's not me praising the lyrics btw. I actually rate most of the California lyrics when they're not singing about parking lots, Friday nights or starting wildfires. Edging just has Tom's vulgar styled lyrics just like TOYPAJ does really.

  21. "Pretend" 😂 It's opinions dude. My opinion is California is a poor album for blink's standards and that Edging is better than the majority of it. Can't even remember the last time I listened to California. Edging is still stuck in my head today. Ain't no pretending about it

  22. My god this would be awful lmao. Love you tho mike. I can't stand Los Angeles besides the bridge, sounds like some terrible nu-metal/pop rock band, just awful.

  24. It’ll probably end up being a reworked and expanded version of the old BCR song. What BCR played live never really sounded like a full song, just sort of a basic idea.

  25. Toms live voice makes it sound shite but I’ve always loved the vibe of it.

  26. I love the idea of the inlays but in practise it doesn’t work.

  27. I truly, truly hope there are no guest spots on this album. I hope the fact that they didn't even entertain the possibility of a substitute drummer for the South American shows means that they want the album to be "us three guys" all the way as well.

  30. You do you man, I think you're nuts for not liking Fighting the Gravity, but I get how it's not a song that would appeal to just any given blink fan for sure. It's definitely a step away from their typical sounds. Cool if it's not for you, but I genuinely love it.

  31. I can't say I really like these titles, what do you think? A bit underwhelming if i am honest. But it doesn't matter, as long as the songs are good.

  39. Give me Edging over 95% of California, if not all of it. I don't like the chorus, but everything else about the song is pretty blink and having Tom and losing Feldmann gives it a major advantage.

  40. Biased? Ha. I prefer Mark as a songwriter than Tom. I also think Nine is a great album, so I'm far from biased. Edging IMO is better than 90% of California. Los Angeles, Bottom of the Ocean, Long Lost Feeling & San Diego are the only songs I love from that album. Feldman really does ruin that album. He at least takes a step back with Nine (it still has some annoying Feldman crap but nowhere near as much as California) The octave chord riff in the verses is more catchy than anything alone on California. The lyrics I can agree need work, but it's no more cringe than what's on California. The more serious California songs have good lyrics though

  41. Yeah, the fact they disappeared after Edging ruined a bit of the good fun with all that and does seem more tacky now. But, the fact anyone's upset with the trio wanting to go full fledge dick jokes for their return album is silly to me. Could not be happier. We've had enough edgy/'progressive' shit. See: Self Titled, Angels and freakin Airwaves, Neighborhoods.. I'm sure we'd complain they are depressed and old now if they just kept going with that. I honestly, truly, think this is the right call for their first album back. Can always do something darker/heavier after. But it'd be weirder/harder to go vise versa on that. Nobody else is doing dick jokes. Nobody. Everyone's doing indy. Everyone's doing plasticky overdone pop hits.

  42. I’d be more into jokey/childish names for things if momentum from Edging had flowed with a bit more news/interviews/a song whatever. Instead we’ve had close to 6 months with nothing but studio pics and tour cancellations so it all just seems a little tackier now for some reason.

  43. https://fb.watch/je-X1jRxYs/ No clue if this will work or not, but it looks like Mark and/or Tom might be starting the media circus. Podcast coming up later today with Jaret and Gary (lead singer/guitarist and drummer of Bowling For Soup)

  44. Siiiiiiiigh... I was so patient with their plan to go silent for months, I even thought it was kinda cool, but goddamn they really need to step it up and get things going now that the first leg of the tour is cancelled. If they wait until May to do or say anything, they're all even more nuts than I thought haha.

  45. Edging is just a nonchalant sweet blink song. It’s not gonna change anyone’s life, but it’s hard to find any major faults with it. Good, fun blink song and did pretty well on alt radio. I’ll take it
