they're just giving you a hard time diddy, we all know that it's lame but i believe his average fans don't ever care about the fact that he's on stage with a guitar. 

 

I didn't know that rumor about Skiba @Kay, did LJG say that in one of her books? I've been meaning to read Tranny since it came out but I always forget to buy the book. I've seen Alk3 live 4 or 5 times but they didn't sound like they had an extra guitar in the mix.

A guy in highschool who called me a poser told me blink did this too, back in the Pop Disaster days.  I don't believe him because the guitar with Tom involved has always sounded kinda like ass lol.

haha thanks! I think this happened on the Crimson tour because that was the only time they went on tour together. Crimson was a big departure from their sound (at the time) so it made sense that they wanted to be as true to the album as possible and they needed an extra guitar on some songs. They could have had the guy on stage though instead of keeping him hidden behind the amplifiers.
I even went to the Crimson tour, but I was 16 and it was my first alk3 show and I was so stoked to see them so I didn't hear the extra guitar; I'm pretty sure the other times there wasn't another guitar though because it was just Skiba doing his rhythm parts.

It seems pretty self aware to me.  Not like he's trying to dupe people as this major guitarist, just that he can dabble and cover some parts.

At least before, he has admittedly gotten more cringe as time has gone on post Tickets.

He doesn't solo like Eric Clapton, but he might be able to cover a rhythm arguably as good if not a smidge better.

Skiba is fucking awful at guitar, no surprise there.

@Johnny Fappleseed what's more offensive to you.  Not really caring about guitar but using it as a prop on stage and dabbling on it, by a former rapper (MGK). Or joining a famous rock band like Blink 182 and having an intense backing track for every live show when that's your only job is to cover blink songs.

Both suck but def Skiba joining blink is less offensive. At least both blink and ak3 cut their teeth and made their names being real rock bands, touring and playing their instruments. They didn’t get propped up on tabloids for dating a popular actress and then capitalize that to cosplay being guitarists. They actually wrote their own songs and recorded all of their own songs on guitar…they were actually real authentic acts. Then utilizing back tracks for synths and shit after their prime years doesn’t change that. Not even close to the same thing , it irks me when people try to compare what MGK is doing to blink using back tracks (which I’d prefer they didn’t) in their later years. Apples to oranges
