Listening to Nine, just, for fairness. No Heart To Speak Of...'I'm gonna slip away.' Wow, fair play skiba.

I think it's hitting a bit different because of a recent relationship. I sound about 13 but I can't lie. I think that's what it is and that's what music does.

I still think blink with Skiba could have been such a different beast, so much more. Two of the best songwriters in the game going at it - but it wasn't a full expression or collaboration. These boys have written absolutely heartrending lyrics in the past and Matt has even churned out some big boy riffs too, Radio etc. I just expected more. Less generic FOB/Modern Baseball vibes. Maybe I want a reversion to a time that doesn't really exist anymore.

Give me Maybe I'll Catch Fire with Dude Ranch. Hell, I even loved Matt in the Sekrets too - I love his modern output but...it didn't happen here

Man, re-listening to this Nine mediocre stuff made me want to try Cali again too and while I'm still undecided between the two, California was totally a nostalgia trip.  Not in the way classic/prime blink is, but who does not remember where they were when Bored to death dropped and Cali leaked?  I remember that entire summer when listening to this stuff.  Still hate the shit, but there's some moments that make me genuinely sad how much time has gone.  

Los Angeles bridge is still the best.  They should have made a whole song like that.  Sober/SOOHM are less annoying now than they were then. 

The album definitely had direction, it just was mostly Feldmann's direction.  Might have to say it's better than Nine forsure.

Also Give Me One Good Reason has dumb lyrics but great music. I love everything about it instrumentally. I don’t know how they made a bridge that’s just simple guitar octaves sound so huge. Love that bridge.
