So a while back I took my preferred tracks from the full release and made a playlist.

I am so damn glad I did because that playlist has become a mainstay for me and has made me appreciate the record a whole lot more.

Now that I can be a driving human (woohoo) I listened to the full 15 track playlist twice yesterday driving to and from my sisters flat.

It was just freakin’ nice. There are songs on there that I wasn’t super hype on originally but in the context of a bunch of songs I dig they have a new lease on life, and I just like them all a bit more than I did before.

I don’t think that would have happened without the new 8 - I only like 5 of them but thrown in with the others makes a much better experience.

So yeah, I am having a lil resurgence of love for this record, by cutting out essentially half of it haha

Out of curiosity, what's the tracklist?

Trying to distract Fap with Lions talk in the hope he forgets about the shambolic Cheshire comment.

Lmfao I knew what he was doing with that too and I let him get away with it. I’m glad you noticed though 😂

Did a full OMT listen for the first time in awhile. Such a good album front to back, but damn, I wish it was produced differently. So much unnecessary clipping in the songs, mostly (but not always) because of the percussion.

Yeah unfortunately it's like the better version of Nine to me in terms of listenability, songs are very good sometimes great, Tom is back (for most part), Mark is back (for most part), Travis kind of sucks but it's whatever.  But the production holds it back from feeling like real music.  Heavy on effects, heavy on vocal touch ups, legit hip hop/electronic elements & effects throughout.  Guitars sound good but a trained ear can hear it's an emulated effect not Tom's mesa boogie.  I can't have that in my blink unless it's in small doses.

I'd rather listen to depressing Neighborhoods/DED if I want to actually listen to real music.

I'll put on OMT/Pt 2 for the initial drop memories and if I'm going to the gym or something and don't need to take it too serious.  Still one of the best times of my life was the anticipation and initial drop date and 1,000 better than Cali/Nine and could be way worse.  Travis needs to get canned from the studio though.

You spent more time loading up your shitty dial up internet in your moms basement to post this instead of reading it.

I actually did read it and I agree with you very much. Good job my guy, you knocked it out of the park!

Jan and Diddy have you guys ever met in real life? I feel like you are a sitcom relationship waiting to happen.

Na we haven’t but I’m open to the idea. Wouldn’t mind traveling to Wisconsin to taste some of that fresh cheese

We came close twice.  One for the concert Oliver ruined so took the wind out of everyone’s sails (Chicago) and the other time I tried freaking him out in Michigan by filming him for the boards.  I think it was meant to wait so we’d both be alive to tell the story.

I also invited him to a beach once but he was too stoned (I believe)

Take the ferry to Milwaukee. Best cheese and beer in the country and an hour drive for me

Last show of the tour tomorrow.
It makes me feel both happy and sad. Happy because the tour was a success, and they deserve a break and time to pursue other things that fulfill them. Sad because it's always exciting to have new things from our favorite band, and the future is uncertain - though this time, I’m feeling a bit more optimistic.

While we've gotten some incredible live recordings from Lolla and other festivals, I'm hopeful they will release some live recording or album from the past two years. This new peak for them has been insane and I'm excited for what happens next.
