fElon Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I am just glad to learn it is "arsonist". I actually thought it was "awesomeness". That was embarrassingly bad. Still, nothing tops, "We quiver and quake, we shiver and shake". I feel like I am listening to their orgasm moan with that line; its a good song, but I have to mentally block some of the lyrics out. 2 Quote
thongrider Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 The arsonist line is the only cool part of that song. Quote
ManchesterAdam Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Run Away is probably my overall favourite song on Nine. Lyrically it’s not the best but just really enjoy the chorus, especially Mark’s part in the last chorus. Love it. Quote
Drama-Free Jan Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Dang, totally thought it was "awesomeness" too. 1 Quote
Ghent Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 This is a good time to remind everyone that up until a few years ago, Oliver thought the lyrics to the Feeling This chorus were "Date fell short this time." 3 3 1 Quote

LOL. I did, but that line makes sense. The whole song is about a date. So "Date fell short" meaning, that Date fell short of expectations, works just fine. 1 Quote

It was more relatable to him is why. Seriously though, who didn't read the lyric booklet that came with Self Titled? Quote
Russel Coight Posted November 12, 2019 Author Posted November 12, 2019 I read the one that came with the untitled album. 2 2 1 Quote
boxelder Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 that whole run away skiba verse is really pretty good. i also like "Lay you in the dark, where we stumble in the mysteries / an opened book that you took, and now I'm history" 1 Quote
Kay Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 I don't hear it mentioned much but how fucking good are the lyrics to Easy Target? 3 Quote

I just really like some of the verse lines, like 'She's the flower that you place on my casket' is quite interesting when paired with the rest of the lines, and the "She's a landslide with the city beneath her" and stuff. almost makes sense and poetic for Mr Delonge. 4 Quote
Jigsaw Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Unpopular opinion but Blame It On My Youth is finally starting to grow on me now. 2 1 Quote
Speedo Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 It's okay enough, I don't mind it too much. I have still nixed it from my playlist though ... still, it's not as bad as a few other songs on the album. Quote
