Just saw this article posted where Deryk talks about how he was sexual abused by their first manager Greg Nori. That one is crazy to me. Being Canadian, we heard Treble Charger lots and I always thought it was cool that he managed them. Turns out he's a huge fucking creep.

Yeah that's horrible, I posted the following on the Sum41 Reddit thread when I saw the news

"Pure speculation here, but this could be a reason for stopping Sum 41, to distance himself from the past (Sum 41) which he associates with the abuse and starting fresh with new projects? Just a thought. But either way, damn this sucks and I feel bad knowing that this happened to him, he is very brave for speaking about this publicly".

I know he's no longer a member of the band, but thought I'd share anyway because I found it very interesting and informative:

(Also yes, he does an ad read for a mobile game that promotes gambling (not sure if it's actual gambling or simulated))

why do you care if he does an ad-read for gambling...?

I don't, but I've come across enough people that aren't fans of it so I felt the need to preface it. Just like I don't mind spoilers, but I know some people hate them so that's why I'd be like "beware of spoilers" before I mention a thing.

Almost forgot about this shit from my youth until somebody brought it up.... there was a show on Much Music up here called "DisBand" showcasing aspiring, young bands looking to break into the industry. Who was the "host" of the show and taking the bands under his wing?

Greig Nori.

Fucking sickening.

heard the Nori news and yikes. I don't know if I've gone on about this band here (probably) but damn did Underclass Hero just feel like a pale imitation of American Idiot. Hard drop off with that record. I actually didn't mind some of SBM but I haven't liked anything since then. Chuck is still a great album.

Yeah, the Greg Nori stuff is such a bummer because I liked Treble Charger and their song 'American Psycho' was a song I always went back to occasionally. On top of that, I remember they reunited sometime after blink did (back in 2012 to be exact) and said they were going to put out a new album, but never did.

That being said, I'm glad Greg's evil deeds have been brought to the light, and I wish Deryck the best going forward at this point and that he's able to put this whole ordeal behind him.

Felt the same. Underclass Hero was embarrassing; pretty much turned me off from them.

LOL yeah, they definitely thought they were going to be the next Green Day with that album.

Apparently Greg Nori has come out and said Deryck is lying. Trash person. Deryck posted and instagram video saying let's go to court then and say that I'm lying under oath.

Have the rest of the band commented yet? There's something creepy about a man in his late thirties dressing like a teenager and hanging out with a bunch of 16-yearolds on a regular basis no matter what...

We had a 19-yearold working the summer at my office and I felt like a dinosaur compared and I'm in my early thirties...

Have the same thing here. We hired a kid like a week after he graduated high school, and working with him as a 33 year old never made me feel so old.

This drummer lives in a delusional reality if he truly believes Sum 41 is on the same levels of punk as those bands and too cool for Enema onwards blink.  They literally are Enema onwards blink in terms of pop production.  Stressful watch, although great albums listed forsure.

Not downplaying the allegations and seriousness of that matter or anything, but on side note I’m not sure I’m much of a fan of this “I need to end the band to pursue other endeavors thing” it just seems forced and like Tom with TTS/movie stuff.  You can do both and not make it such a dramatic shift no?

I get the obvious it’s a big obligation and distraction potentially but idk if just seems a bit melodramatic to me to just end a band abruptly unless they are forced on tours or something by a label

Probably lots of pressure from many. Like fans, the bandmembers making the least money and so on.

Feel like this band has been a slow decline for a while, so why not just call it quits, especially if his heart isn't in it.
