quiksilver199
Can someone PM me the DL as well? Really liking the EP so far, but I can only listen on crappy computer speakers... I wanna be able to listen to it on my drive home from work
anders182
it sounds like tom is singing "black tights for everyone" in disaster at 1:
bojangles
i really dig Yelawolf's part and i woud love another version without him as well cuz the bridge sounds fantastic.
...Dan...
I think you need to be more than friendly and nice to be a good producer. In fact, it's probably better to be a bit of an arsehole and be a producer, be honest and tell the band exactly what you like/don't like etc...wouldn't surprise if Holmes is a bit of a 'yes' man. Fishguts182
Very impressed with this EP I'm loving it. Think people need to realize if they hadn't broken up after untitled this is the direction they were going. I wish sometimes there was no AVA or +44 because then people wouldn't compare it. This is what blink was going to sound like regardless. If anything +44/AVA were sounding like what blink was going to become at first. Not the other way around. Loving this EP and the direction this band is going, very happy fan right here. And the yelawolf rap is fine IMO.

wannabe corn dog
the fact that people are complaining about production quality scares me. how much more polished do you want it? sure, some parts sound a bit strange and could have been worked out differently, but that just reminds me of older blink and i'm cool with it.
Ghost
I think the EP it's perfect as it is in terms of production. I don't like too much polished stuff. More direct stuff is much better. They need to work with Butch Vig. That combo can be killer.
stfnkrgr
Dogs eating dogs is my favorite right now. Nice alt-rock song. Lots of energy. 2nd probably When i was young. Boxing day is a decent one, but doesn't come close to I miss you (if that is the direction they were headed for) Verses in pretty little girl are beautiful but it still falls apart for me in the choruses.Even though I love Yela I will have to get used to that bridge (not saying it's bad, will probably love it tomorrow) Disaster is most likely a grower, right now it's my least favorite one. It just doesn't stand out. All in all: Love it so far! Don't get that weird disenchantment as with Neighborhoods.

Not my point at all, Ghent said: "plus he's a pretentious douche bag." My only point was I never got that opinion from him, regardless of whatever his production skills are or aren't. Fishguts182
Honestly after listening over and over, pretty little girl rap and all is one of the best songs they've done. I swear its so good, if you listen to yela's lyrics it fits perfect with the song. I dunno am I the only one absolutely loving that song with the rap? I think it all flows so well.

People are complaining about some songs having too much of an AVA sound. When in reality the most AVA sounding song blink ever did was Asthenia, and no one complained about that when it was released because A: AVA didn't exist yet, and B: its a fucking fantastic song regardless. The problem isn't that a song has an AVA or +44 vibe, the problem is that these bands exist for us to compare to. When in reality both bands were and always have been the continuation of aspects from different parts of blink. And I fucking love the rap portion, which is crazy, cuz when I was younger I absolutely despised rap and wouldn't give it the time of day.

Would love to hear more guest vocals which I think they will be down for.
stfnkrgr
Here we go: second listen on that rap bridge in Pretty Little Girl - already in love with it I knew Yela and blink couldn't fail. It's just VERY strange on the first listen cause it's nothing we've ever heard on a blink song.

M!ke
ah yes the lyrics, time for those to start getting compiled no? Or did I already miss that (can't be bothered to look through the whole thread). No matter the song, these guys always seem to have very brilliant lyrics when working with blink anyway, I can think of a handful of not so great lyrics in AVA.

jordidanen95
the last note tom is singing during the ''when i was young'' chorus...sounds out of place with the music notes is it just me? my favourite songs on the e.p are1. Disaster - epic intro / kinda sounds like 50% selftitled 50% wdntw2. Dogs eating dogs - so much energy..just like here's your letter or hearts all gone / cool breakdown / the intro reminds me of the selftitled guitar riff3. can't really choose between the other 3 .....love them aswell
Fishguts182
What do you fear my love? Hold on you're breaking up. Tom nailed it in disaster I think.
