Get the hang of lyrics!? it's a blink-182 song, not quantum physics.

"I am a haunted house, I'm superstitious. You are the coldest, stone carved marble faces"

Idk, it's pretty complicated at times, still trying to figure this puzzle out. Also, these "whoa nanas" that they speak of. Interesting.

I'm critical of new blink sometimes just Jesus Christ, THEY'RE JUST LYRIC VIDEOS.

They never used them before because Youtube didn't even exist until after they broke up the first time and the whole promotion for Neighborhoods was non existent.

They're are things that need to be said and discussed about this new era of blink but lyric videos?! now you're just moaning for the sake of moaning.

lol how are people attacking me for saying these lyric videos are bad. It takes all of 5 seconds of watching them to see how visually overdone and annoying they are. You act like I'm saying that because the lyric videos are bad, I'm going to dig myself a grave and take a picture of Tom DeLonge with me before burying myself alive.

I'll elaborate for you and Ghent since you both asked so nicely.

These lyric videos have horrible visual design in such an overdone way as to inhibit their function. In terms of their function and purpose, they are horrible. Every aspect of a band's brand has importance and deserves to be analyzed to a respective degree. The lyric videos are poorly made. The album art is also shit, like I said before California released. Now, I'm not going to analyze these things as much as the music itself, because that would be ridiculous (as I said, respective degree). Instead they serve as further reflections of the increase of corporatism that has infected this band. To me, it feels like they chose what they thought would be "popular" for the aesthetic of the record, and therefore the lack of real artistic direction behind it and artificiality becomes clear. That is totally significant because  of the parallel with the actual music - this same crucial flaw permeates every single second of music on the album. This album is a dishonest, synthetic, generic artistic failure and that is present in every aspect of the album to me, and so I express my criticism freely.

To attack me for criticizing lyric videos (like Ghent also did for the album art) is ridiculous, and only serves to further highlight the antagonistic nature of this forum. I'll say it again, the lyric videos are fucking trash.

But it's subjective.  I literally just this last weekend showed one of my casual blink fan friends a Deluxe song and they commented on how cool the lyric video was lol

I always thought they were perfectly fine for just listening to the songs on YouTube.  Better than just staring at the album art, which they easily could have done.

the Deluxe lyric videos are alot nicer than the O.G California ones... in particular the ones for Rabbit Hole (starting off with a clip art brain and a rough cut out of Mark) and No Future (low quality city illustration that they kept zooming in on so you could literally see all the jagged pixellated edges). And then just giving up on the rest of the songs like Only Thing That Matters and giving it a basic Windows Movie Maker text scroll

but that's just me speaking as a picky bitch who works in animation

at the end of the day it's lyric videos, who cares. i'd be more concerned about the quality of their actual music videos.

For me, it ain't just blink's lyric videos that suck. Literally every lyric video (professional standard ones) I've ever seen from any band or artist sucks. Always out of sync. If I wanted to sing along as I'm learning the lyrics, it'd be difficult to do that when they're already singing. Would be difficult to do that even if they were actually timed. Would be better if each word showed up like 1-2 seconds before.

If anything I just google the lyrics and read them off google play though. Way better to do that IMO.

Uh, did I dispute the subjectivity of how shitty the lyric videos are somewhere? I think they're pretty bad. Yes that's subjective.

new blink song is pretty sweet:

On first listen, I thought it was Matt singing the chorus. This song is so similar to California that its scary, you could literally make this a Blink song about Tom.

edit: this song needs some more fucking personality

Wtf... this is like when everyone screams Tom brought too much AVA into blink. Fuck there's even gang vocals and unnecessary woah-oh's.
