Not trying to hate, I legit want us all to be swimming in a pool of our collective cum from the massive hype boner we should all be having right now. Won’t you come and swim with me? How long has anything from them been imminent? I've bought into that feeling way too much with this band. I'll get excited again when a new song actually releases and I thoroughly enjoy it. Another Edging wouldn't do that for me. 1
Kay Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 That video is… vague nothingness. Curious about the guitar but I have long learned to temper expectations. 5
Coddled Jan Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 To me it's just the melody/mood is perfect. 15 seconds is 15 seconds, but I'm hype. Literally dropped a video Stay Tuned. They are alive. 1
NotNow Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 Since the video is unlisted and wasn’t supposed to be found yet I doubt the song is this week if they were still planning to do a stay tuned tease. Makes more sense it’s next week now to start the next tour with the album announcement and single. edit: nvm maybe it’s supposed to be unlisted and only available to a mailing list? 1

Coddled Jan Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 It wasn't some space prog intro, and wasn't some ridic parking lot sounding intro..sounds like Tom and blink legit. Not sure how no one else got some pretty good reassurance off this to start at least. It's a good start. 2

Speedo Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 I’ve always enjoyed Tom on acoustic, this sounds like it could be right up my alley. 2 1
Ghent Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 I think what I want most from this era is for blink to finally just take what they were already insanely good at in the TOYPAJ era and take the next step with it with Tom. I don't really need new sounds or experiments. They're too old to reinvent the wheel musically. Let's face it, the three of them together have been out of the game for like 20 years, stuck on trying new things that haven't really worked. There is a mature, modern way to deliver what they were starting to perfect with TOYPAJ. Mix that with some of the elements they touched on in releases after that and let's see what happens. 2 level hype 5 1

Let's get that up to a 3 already. 1 1

I mean neighborhoods was half-assed and yet still nearly the follow-up I always wanted to Untitled. I feel like if they gave it their all, they could absolutely give us what I wanted in this department. Hell, I'd happily take another Neighborhoods (minus a song or two). I just think that more TOYPAJ or Enema would just be very underwhelming for me at this point. I'd probably enjoy it, but I'd end up putting it down as quickly as I did with California (and again, I enjoy that album, but it had no staying power for me). 3

No way Neighborhoods is a follow up to Self Titled but I love it for the disjointed out of place album that it is. 3

Well that's what they were calling it. And I dunno, songs like Kaleidoscope, Up all Night, Fighting the Gravity, Ghost on the Dancefloor: that all felt like a natural progression from Untitled to me.
Ghent Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 As good as Untitled is, it never really felt like the true spirit of blink to me. That still lives in the Enema/TOYPAJ era (again, that's just my opinion, settle down) 2
Ghent Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 The more times I listen to that little clip the more blood travels into my penis area 2 1 2
Coddled Jan Posted August 22, 2023 Posted August 22, 2023 If this album is good and really a progression of Toypaj then Neighborhoods only gets better.
