Feldman has confirmed it. Feldman wanted a fun upbeat summer album. Mark & Skiba were probably writing very dark & depressing +44/Alkaline Trio stuff that wasn't radio friendly at all. The verses of Hey I'm Sorry although amazing are bleak as hell. They liked the songs. They found them worthy. They just didn't fit their ideas of what blink should sound like. We can agree to disagree, several songs that made it sound nothing like traditional Blink. And even if you buy into Feldy making all the calls and wanting the album a certain way from scratch, they could've thrown anything on DLX. Misery, 6/8, Last Train Home are all "darker/depressing". I just don't think the songs were that good, and for whatever reason, they chose not to use hardly any of it. Unfortunately we'll never know, but this argument was far more entertaining than work today LOL! 1 Quote

These were all recorded before Tom quit again though. Built This Pool cannot count though. That was never meant to be a song in the first place. Feldman found it funny when he first heard it. Glad they released that. I always loved this riff in the second part 1 Quote

Hell salvage 2, maybe even 3 if they were decent? Let Feldy work his magic and re-work them if needed. But nothing, short of parts of "Hey I'm Sorry" made it. These are the facts. I know if I had written something even halfway decent that I believed had potential, I would've pushed to continue working on it or even just taken parts from it. Collectively, they decided none of that material was even worth bringing to a donut session for the new Blink album. In the studio from 5am-2am for 3 months, and none of that stuff was even worth re-recording at Feldy's... I know it seems crazy to think that Mark/Matt couldn't write some great tunes, but I don't think those demos were very good, and neither did they. All we need to know is that Hey I'm Sorry had normal lyrics, that fit their point in time, and not about smashing wine coolers before the weekend. That's all we needed to know. Quote

zzzz Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 My Apple Music shows “20th Anniversary” on EOTS... odd. Maybe today’s big announcement are some EOTS shows or some special edition? 1 1 Quote

So Fri is as close as they could get for an announcement 1 Quote
Champ182 Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Whoa depending on what it includes a special edition of some kind could be REALLY sweet Quote
Marik Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I was just daydreaming... Imagine "Mark Matt and Travis Show" album of that Beach show Enema setlist (recording touched-up in studio, of course) to get us thru album delay 1 Quote

zzzz Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Tom's show launches tonight too... if this is some calculated PR move to use EOTS Anniversary Editions to get him some attention that would be sooo whack. I'm guessing a couple special EOTS shows will be added, NY, LA, Canada. Makes sense and explains why they would be rehearsing EOTS front to back. Maybe even in the next few weeks before the official "tour" kicks off. That or absolutely nothing and Mark was just being a tease. Quote
zzzz Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 An EOTS hoody just popped up on the "Featured Banner" so it may indeed be some sort of special EOTS stuff... Quote
Russel Coight Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 How much of Friday is left where blink lives? Quote
zzzz Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 Not too much lol, some more EOTS merch just popped up... Mark may have thought today was June 1st, when the actual anniversary is tomorrow. Quote
