"registered fans" get first access, but is it gonna be this dynamic pricing bs? If so, what's a mid-level ticket gonna run, $2000? Ticket prices have been announced ($49-$450 for regular and $199-$899 for VIP), which isn't typical when dynamic pricing is in effect, so hopefully that's a good sign.

You sure about that? From what I've heard no one knows if this is dynamic pricing or not for sure. Seems cheap, especially considering the demand would have to 100x higher than blink, who are still selling pit tickets for $

radioactive tomdog
i have a feeling blink will be dropping shows or playing half empty arenas unless they somehow lower the prices of what's left over. not sure how they can do that with dynamic pricing though. sounds like you get one or the other and can't suddenly change it to set prices just because the other method failed. Patient #48273
Dynamic pricing is based on demand, so if those tickets are still available in a few months, the prices will drop more and more until someone buys them.
Radioactive Ghent
Someone here was saying it was like this for the recent MGK tour but then the day before the show they were practically giving away good seats because of the dynamic pricing.

Yeah, the annoying thing is you'll have to wait until the week/month of to get any honest prices, so you can't plan. It's technically smart, but insanely greedy and manipulative. They probably have it down to a T now, sell 70-80ish% of their tickets up until the final week or month of the show at inflated prices, then drop them significantly to finish up lining the pockets with change. Beethoven
It's the most efficient way they can sell each ticket, the only way to change it is to boycott it until the last weeks. Good luck with getting enough people to do that.
radioactive tomdog
but if everyone goes to buy tickets the week of, wouldn't that technically make them "high demand" all over again and skyrocket the prices? just doesn't seem like there's a way around it.

True but I don't think they're willing to risk it enough the closer it gets. But yes. I guess key opening would be like the month before then or something. But they might have it so advanced that it does just fluctuate on the spot perfectly to who's looking at them and therefore no winning. I'm going Craigslist the weeks before, not Ticketmaster
Radioactive Ghent
If you proved to me the artists themselves were getting more money out of this maybe I’d feel different. But as it stands now, it seems like Ticketmaster has simply become the bot ticket scalper of old and they take the extra cash themselves using this “dynamic pricing” algorithm. If I could choose between the two I’d honestly rather give that excess money to a scalper over a giant corporation manipulating all of us. I don’t necessarily blame blink, but this dynamic pricing thing is bullshit. The bot scalper route seems like the better free market option, sadly.
Cheerios4u98
from what I've heard it sounds like getting tickets for Paramore's tour has been similarly nightmarish to getting blink tickets. Guess it just fucking sucks now to see big artists live. Also I was checking blink tickets again the other day and they're selling tickets that are BEHIND THE STAGE. wtf?? like $200 too.
Beethoven
Yeah, but people are idiots for buying them. If they are laughing offering a ticket behind the stage just to "be there", and someone buys it. That's all that matters to them right? I agree with Gent, I'd rather have a traditional scalper try to gouge me than a ticketmaster.com algorithm mayhem.
Elisa
All the shows in Europe and Australia are practically sold out and it would be the same in the US if it wasn't for the dynamic pricing. I can't see how a tour manager would rather have blink play in front of an half empty arena when the other option is reasonable prices = 100% sold out shows

Either way they win out.
kibbles
My bank denied my dispute and shut the case for my original tickets even though I have in writing from Ticketmaster thay they were sorry about the mixup and recommending me to contact my bank to get the refund. So now im stuck with PIT (which I want) and expensive floor seats I no longer need and doubt anyone will buy. Ffffff
Mau5
The second stadium tour they did with MCR I got 2 tickets to see them for $40 day of the show lol (could you imagine that now?) on GROUPON and they ended up canceling one of the stadium shows on Vancouver Island because it didn't sell. With that being said it was because of the lack of interest and tbh I think the week of it will be the same or at the very least significantly cheaper than the current ticket sales of $200-$900 lol
Rickay
Not sure this is relevant but Peter Kay had sold out 42 nights at the Manchester Arena 😮 with the last date in July 25. He should have done the dynamic pricing, would have made a killing.
