  2. It's weird, I don't know how to describe it exactly but this "nu pop punk" stuff just doesn't even seem real to me. It feels like some industry players like Travis are just shaping random TikTok personalities into carefully curated pop-punk clones. Yes, I know, tons of 00s pop punk bands were inauthentic as well, including Blink themselves in some ways. But at that time it felt like the industry plucking up pop-punk bands from the pop-punk world and making them bright and shiny for mass consumption. This feels more like the industry plucking up people who have nothing to do with that world and putting them into pop-punk Halloween costumes.

  4. Idk how people know this shit. I hear about “the family” but never know much of anything about any of them. Do you watch the show or something? I don’t really get the fame because they seem very uninteresting to me.

  5. Just got home from the show in New Jersey tonight, they killed it. They sounded great and it was a good time. Very happy I made it out tonight, drank some alcohol and enjoyed myself. Tom was having fun and the setlist was pretty good, solid end to the weekend. their merch absolutely sucks tho.

  7. 5 hours later and I'm still fairly triggered by Davey Jones's post... What the actual fuck?

  8. Feels like I'm the only one that still absolutely loves the recent drumming from Travis. I love all that flashy or complicated shit he pulls out. The drums in Kaleidoscope, Fighting the Gravity and Heart's All Gone are great. Not a fan of how the drums sound on California, but I still love the drumming on that album, especially on Los Angeles and 6/8. The drums on the outros of Generational Divide and No Heart to Speak Of are quality too. I guess I just love his overplaying style. I can see why people don't like it but I love it

  13. While I generally do my best to avoid spoilers, I don't think they ruin things. A good story (or setlist?) should be enjoyable even if you know exactly what's going to happen. Surprises should just enhance the experience, not make or break it.

  16. not knowing what's going to happen is 1/2 the thrill of enjoying a piece of entertainment, wtf?

  17. it’s all subjective of course but I think sloppy is absolutely a style

  18. to each their own - to my point those songs would have been very different songs not just recordings and I think that was pretty clear to the band. I do think Scott is under appreciated though. his playing although simple was actually quite stylistic in the way that Tom’s guitar playing was/is.

  20. Secret Crowds being played should not require a spoiler alert because people should know if they have to listen to that song in advance. That’s a bathroom break for sure

  21. Illan is one of those typical child prodigy kids who have incredible talent for whatever endeavor it is, but don’t really seem to have passion for it. He’s amazing, so I’m not trying to pull a LJG here, but he is the definition of a mercenary. he joined with Tom in order to pimp out his personal band, which is fine, but still. Isn’t like he is super loyal to AVA or something.

  22. I thought Travis was great on neighborhoods. His drumming really elevated those songs and made them interesting. After that I haven’t noticed anything interesting

  29. Definitely wondering if those slating Atom here have only experienced him through AVA. Seriously, check out his other work. Man is a power house.

  30. I think Travis inspired some of those songs to exist. imagine Shut Up with Scott playing - I can’t - that’s why the pub was warranted. I think probably any good punk drummer could have made a maybe not the same, maybe better maybe a little worse but similar version dude ranch, cheshire etc

  33. Yeah if that conversation is "trashiest" celebrity! Seriously though, Atom isn't as flashy but he's seriously fucking skilled and sought out. They're pretty even if your judging straight skill. Travis probably has an edge performance and entertainment wise, he is an amazing drummer who knows how to put on a show. Whereas Atom is more of a drummers drummer and just drives the bus. Ilan hasn't ever struck me as anything special. He seems like more of a jack of all trades musically than anything truly special.

  34. Just another guy who probably never liked blink besides the AVA sounding songs.. Imagine getting this triggered over someone making out with a Kardashian on Instagram. Unfollow him ffs. Atom and Ilan better than Travis? ? fuck me up the ass

  35. LJG has a very old school idea of punk. That was probably her way to say that she can't stand this new wave of pop punk carried entirely by Travis.

  37. go join ry bread if you can't handle people on here finding travis's publicity stunts to be lame. it's mild criticism at best. the guy is nearly 50 years old. every day the world is greeted with a heavily photoshopped image of him shoving his tongue down a reality tv star's throat. it's just yet another thing that kills the memories i had of this band growing up.

  38. Can’t believe a guy who named his company Famous, collects Cadillacs, and had a reality TV show on MTV enjoys fame.. And as for drumming technique or whatever, no one ever scolded Tom for hanging his guitar to his knees. It looked cool, who cares? Mercenary chasing $$? He always prioritizes his main band, but loves working with other artists. He has work ethic mixed with love of drumming, why is that something to shit on? Very odd flex from Laura Jane Grace

  39. Travis looks cool af when he plays tbh. His exaggerated playing style is kind of ridiculous and over the top but I think it makes it really fun to watch instead of just to listen to.

  40. She’s just jealous that Travis is still relevant and she’s a fucking nobody. Famous for chopping her dick off, well done.

  41. Travis was on SNL for real tonight playing with Young Thug. No idea who that is but the songs were cool. Fuck Laura Jane Grace lol, very odd attack. Travis has been doing the same thing for 20 years and a lot of what he’s done has been irrelevant. He kept doing what he wants and didn’t give a shit. Now he’s having major success so it’s bringing out the haters. Honestly it’s pathetic. Especially the blink “fans” shitting on him.

  42. Travis is one of the most fun drummers to watch. He’s a deeply weird person but it’s always a treat to see him play!

  48. New additions to the timeline! Added this quote from Lupus Thunder directly from his tour journal about this show and meeting Blink! 8/24/1997 : The band performs at Spijk en Bremerberg in Dronten, Holland, as a part of Lowlands Festival. "It was pretty exciting to see Blink 182 rocking out to us (we had just met them earlier in the day when we went over to see them). I just got their new record and they were great live." Source: https://web.archive.org/web/20001109004100fw_/http://www.bloodhoundgang.com/archive4to5_f.html Picture : https://www.instagram.com/p/CRcZWZ8Jf08/ 10/13/1999: The band performs at the Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino part of the MTV Sports and Music Festival 3 in Las Vegas, Nevada. This MTV performance took place at the Joint at the Hard Rock Café and a new clip just surfaced from the same day where Tom is wearing the same exact white shirt in the Carson Daly report that matches up with the little clips between All The Small Things and Going Away to College that are already in the timeline! starting 14:44 Hanging out with Blink, Smash Mouth, Rob Schneider, Ashton Kutcher and Tom Green Added this old school footage for this show (huge credits and shout-out to Megapulpvideos on Youtube for uploading his Warped Tour experience from that same day!) 7/29/1997:The band performs at Three County Fairgrounds in Northampton, Massachusetts as a part of Warped Tour 1997.
