boxelder Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 man how rad it was sitting down and listening to neighborhoods for the first time. i knew it wasn't good, but i was so excited. GOTDF and AM still rank among the best-ever blink songs for me. proof that even through emails there is something great about tom, mark and travis Quote
Cheerios4u98 Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 The first time I ever heard Neighborhoods I listened to it and Dogs Eating Dogs back-to-back. That was a weird / awesome experience. The weirdest part for me was that I had already heard Up All Night, Hearts All Gone, and After Midnight (and live recordings of GOTDF) and so I had already known those songs for two years and it felt really weird listening to an album for the first time and having songs I was already so familiar with on it. It felt like I was listening to a compilation album of new and old music. So weird. I think both Neighborhoods and Dogs Eating Dogs are great though, honestly. Not blink's best, but I still love both of them. What has sucked about blink-182 since the reunion has been the broken promises, delays, and fights, but the music has still been good. Quote
fElon Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Someone is deleting my comments off Tom's facebook. I was bored and had some fun tearing into Tom and his tombots. I know its childish but I couldn't help it. I hope its Tom seeing them and getting pissed. That would be great. 1 Quote
vic vinegar Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I still like Dogs Eating Dogs and really about half of Neighborhoods. I was skateboarding home down in Wrigley late at night the first time I heard Neighborhoods. So awesome. It's still at the top of my most-played list on itunes somehow. Fun times. I don't think I'll ever get the same feeling with any future Skiba releases blink does. Quote

I saw a picture of him with what looked to be either a Boba Fett statue or a cos-player. I think Tom's trying to reach out to Mark, guys!!!!!!! Quote
vic vinegar Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I could definitely see that. It was probably his wife answering those Facebook questions... Quote
Knapppers Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I remember the first time i heard wishing well i was like o gee another song Tom ripped off, only to realize that the place i had heard it before was in a modcam tom did lol Quote
hammerpipe Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I remember being SO underwhelmed the first time I heard NHs. I didn't follow blink super closely back then so I didn't realize that they didn't really spend a whole lot of time in the studio together... Until I listened to the record. I remember thinking to myself that something was amiss with the band... Quote
The Dog From Frasier Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Ran into this gem, i remember this song always reminded of me blink during their first break up 2 Quote

I remember thinking to myself that something was amiss with the band... It is a shame that Tom fucked the band at the prime of their material. Self-Titled was amazing, and Jerry Finn was still alive. Can you imagine how amazing an album would have been when you take the best of We Don't Need to Whisper, When Your Heart Stops Beating, Self-Titled, and Jerry Finn producing it? Would have been an insane album. Quote
Jamie Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Standard Tombot Reply in defense of Tom He's actually doing very well for himself. Angels and airwaves is become bigger than I think he ever thought it would. I don't think he is gonna let his old band define who he is. He has so much more to offer now. It's not even about the music, it's about the effect he has on people. He's been a big inspiration on many people's lives, including mine. From some 14 year old kid. Then it hits me, I've been a Blink fan longer than he's been alive. I was watching Blink on the PDT when he was learning his first word. This shit depresses the hell out of me. Bigger than he ever thought it would? Yeah.... a bigger disappointment. Quote

Knapppers Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 With seeing all this shit Tom has been doing and posting about lately, im really happy hes out of blink. Its clear he had no time to do anything with blink in the near future Quote

Osgod Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Sick, I can still remember what I was doing that day and that I stayed "up all night" to catch the premier on the internet radio. Can only happen with Blink. Best band ever! Quote
thongrider Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 I don't think he wrote the lyrics. Just the bass. I thought he wrote the lyrics only. Quote
