allsystemsgo Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 With the strides that AI voices have made in such little time, you'd think autotune would have reached the point of being less robotic, unless that's the sound they were going for? Quote
hammerpipe Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Wow. Didn’t expect to be so moved by seeing the boys on stage together again. Had the tears of joy thing going on. And to think this is not a legacy act. We’re getting a brand new album very soon... Fuck me! 3 1 Quote
Popular Post The Watcher Posted April 15, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 15, 2023 When was the last time they had banter between every song? Even before the Skiba era, it felt like they’d play 4 songs, stop for a second to say “hi, we’re blink-182”, and then just power through 3-4 more songs before saying anything else. Last night was some MT&TS shit. Fucking awesome. I feel sorry for the good chats guy who thinks it’s cringe. Actually no, I don’t. 11 Quote
Nosferatu Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 I'll have to re-listen to the autotune cause I was too busy vibing to listen out for shit like that I watched from around 2.45am until about 4ish, I watched the whole show anyway That was the best blink have sounded since 2004. I was worried about Tom's new guitars but they sound better than his Gibsons. Mark's singing is awesome again. The backing tracks were low in the mix the way they should be except on the more piano based songs like Down & I Miss You, which is understandable for them kinda songs It wasn't the perfect performance but it's blink. It never has to be perfect. They fucking ROCKED. Loved the banter. Tom had some hilarious moments. Loved his part with the guitar guy when swapping guitars and he asked "Who are you? Do you work here?" Dunno why I found that part so hilarious but I just did Was nice hearing some of the Enema/Take Off songs that they hadn't played frequently since the first reunion. Mark was having the time of his life. Loved seeing the guy so happy after everything he's been through. blink for life I just hope Tom doesn't get blink cancelled in 2023 with his antics in between songs ? 8 1 Quote
Chewy030 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Seeing Aliens Exist and Dysentery Gary back in the set list made me happy. Hope those two stick for tour. 5 Quote
Thomas D. Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 The best part of Dysentary Gary is that if you don’t know the lyrics, you can’t understand a single word Tom is singing in the verses lol 1 7 Quote
Dylan_ Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 That footage we got of them before they went on stage was epic. Something I thought I would never see! Mark and Tom looked so happy together. 5 2 Quote
Jane Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 okay I'm glad Alien's exist is back and it sounded pretty great too. Nice to hear Tom and Mark's harmonies again! 2 Quote

OrganGrinderX182 Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 Really really loved this set, teared up a few times for sure, you could tell how relaxed and settled in they were, it was nice to see someone play the guitar parts and not labor over them. Tom plays what looks like effortlessly and adds all those cool little touches. I miss you was spot on. second only to pepsi smash. his guitar setup /tone was sick. mark didnt try to shut tom up. they were acting like bros right before they went on this is the Blink 182 we deserved after the first reunion, but im glad they are most clearly in a good place now. 4 Quote
bojangles Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 I seriously give Tom and Mark both an A+ in their performances, the best they both ever sounded since before the 09 reunion. I'm super pumped for May 20th now 4 Quote
Popular Post boxelder Posted April 15, 2023 Author Popular Post Posted April 15, 2023 acclaim across the board FWIW -- lots of folks enjoyed this performance https://variety.com/2023/music/news/blink-182-coachella-festival-1235584257/ Over the last two decades, Coachella has maintained its trend-setting reputation by hosting special guests, surprise sets and unexpected reunions before other fests get ahold of them. But never before have the three converged the way they did tonight [...] It’s pretty incredible that Blink, once pop-punks bubble-gum stepchild, have become genre forebears, but it’s also undeniable: the set brought together both the younger and more classic Coachella demos in a way Blackpink or even Frank Ocean are unlikely to do later this weekend. High Value Man Posted April 15, 2023 Posted April 15, 2023 I really loved the banter before Feeling This. “show ‘um you’re dick.” Mark getting Travis to say hello. Tom ranting about how no one can do what they do. Mark- “here’s a music” Tom- “how does it go?” and yelling more about how no one can do what they do. ??? last night was just so fucking good. Felt like a kid again. ?❤️ 3 3 Quote
